07/09/2011
Not to be missed, until 9 October 2011, at Casermetta St. Paolino and the related underground, in the context of the celebrations for the fifth centenary of the founding of the modern walls of Lucca (1513) and the commemoration of 145 anniversary of the purchase of the walls by the Municipal Administration.
On display postcards on the last century: from early 1900 until 1960.
It 'was made a job of "enlargement", which simply allows you to display the cards and each was supplemented by a caption that explains the times and memories.
The exhibition is made possible thanks to the many original pieces that are part of the collection of private collector Giampaolo Bone, who has selected the postcards on display, more than 2000 specimens representing the Walls of Lucca.
The exhibition is divided into two paths:
- one that develops in the Underground in Via San Paolino's Ball, which displays enlargements (up to 5 meters in length) of the cards, whose vision is facilitated by special panels backlit (light boxes) that highlight the particular, the projection of cards with 2 different modes and exposure of the fronts and backs of findings with enlargements of details for a "ring of walls" made with the cards.
- the other held directly within the barracks San Paolino (the seat of CISCU) with an exhibition of original postcards and vintage items.
The help of technology and the suggestive atmosphere that is created in this play of light is a "something" that the visitor can decide to "take home" as the big news of the exhibition is the ability to buy items on display: enlargements, reproductions and light boxes.
Opening of the Exhibition: from 11 to 18 hours
The ticket price is 3 €, 2 € reduced.
It will be possible to reuse the ticket: visitors can go see the exhibition and see the underground for the duration of exposure.
